Children, ages eight to twelve, are invited to learn while having fun at Prairie View A&M University’s Cooperative Extension Program Nutri-Cubs in Pantherland Day Camp scheduled on campus August 11th.
This free event will be held in the Leroy Moore Gym at PVAMU from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The camp is open to any youth, grades third thru sixth, and is on a first come, first serve basis, so all are encouraged to begin registering.
Cooperative Extension’s Family and Consumer Sciences staff and student interns plan to educate youth about nutrition, physical fitness and outdoor safety. Youth will gain helpful information on the food guide pyramid, sunscreen safety and how to stay healthy by participating in physical activities such as dancing.
Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothes because they will partake in a hay ride and field trips to the Prairie View A&M University farm and greenhouse where students will learn about the environment and agriculture.
Coordinators of the event are 2010 CEP interns Wentrice Allen, Tenechia Beal and Christine Williams. Interested persons should contact Extension agents – CEP- Family & Consumer Sciences, Leticia Rolland-Hardy, Grimes County at 936/873-3910, email@example.com and Te’Anna Reed, Waller County, 979/826-7651, firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Registration information can also be found online at pvcep.pvamu.edu.
